At the end of the day, you owe it to yourself to be thoughtful about AI.

As a company, we have continued to evolve, making strides in various areas. One such shift has been a slight pivot in our positioning and target audience. Over the past few years, through our actions, word of mouth, and networking, we have gained significant momentum working with companies in regulated industries, including finance, insurance, and legal sectors.

This has become an increasing pattern that we fully embrace and that has inspired us. It may not be considered "glamorous," but as the leaders of our company, Michelle and I prefer to focus on efficacy and results. Everybody and their brother are on social media channels touting miraculous claims, such as mastering AI in a day, if not hours. Nice try, but I call BS! AI is not something that is mastered overnight, regardless of the tool or technology. It shouldn't be viewed or pitched in such a cavalier manner. Companies seeking to integrate AI into their business operations must approach it strategically. What do I mean by that? The advent and increasing capabilities of Artificial Intelligence over the years have provided remarkable possibilities, but what is different than before is the fact that implementing AI effectively is far more transformative and comprehensive than previous digital transformations. There are much larger implications at play. Yes, there are countless SaaS tools available, more than any one person could try, but the idea that signing up for a SaaS AI tool will make your business AI-optimized is, frankly, not accurate. Why? Because of the multitude of impacts and considerations you must think about and ask when integrating AI. Questions like: Is the potential AI solution credible? Legitimate? Accurate? Secure? Compliant? Open-source or closed-source? Cloud or on-premise? Possibly a hybrid approach. Additionally, are there privacy concerns? Will it integrate with existing tools within my organization? What is the learning curve? How will employees react? Brass tacks, every single one of these questions, and many more, needs to be asked and answered for successful AI implementation in your business.

The fact of the matter is this goes beyond adopting new technologies, it's about responsibility. When you're in a regulated industry, being thoughtful about AI isn't optional; it's fiduciary. Every shortcut taken, every question left unasked, every 'quick win' pursued without proper consideration becomes a potential liability. At the end of the day, you owe it to yourself to be thoughtful about AI, because your stakeholders, your regulators, and your reputation are counting on you to get this right.

So here's what I want you to ask yourself: Are you being thoughtful about AI, or are you just being busy with it? The difference between thoughtful and hasty could be the difference between transformation and costly mistakes. The question isn't whether you'll adopt AI; it's whether you'll do it right.
